Design by Diversity Day
Helen Liu Fong – 2024
Design by Diversity Day (DxD) is a once-yearly event that connects professionals to students across many experience levels. DxD focuses on raising public awareness regarding the role of architectural design and creating outreach programs within student communities to develop a more diverse talent pipeline. Every year, the DxD block party highlights a renowned architecture figure in the Southern California region and this year we celebrated Helen Liu Fong!
This year, ACLA’s team emphasized a comprehensive approach to diversity, acknowledging that it encompassed more than just race, gender, and sexual orientation. Our impressive lineup of diverse leaders exemplified a forward-thinking perspective that recognized the multifaceted and evolving nature of the architectural profession and the broader communities it served. We made a meaningful contribution to educate and build our community.
