Design Like a Girl, a hands-on mentorship program by Architecture for Communities Los Angeles (ACLA), empowers middle school girls from underrepresented communities to explore architecture, engineering, and design through immersive, all-day workshops. Participants engage in field trips, design projects—from drawing to model-making—and present their creations, guided by female professionals who serve as mentors.

Architecture for Communities Los Angeles (ACLA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission to expand access to architecture education and design opportunities. We operate independently from AIA|LA, with our own board, programs, and fundraising.
